Lovely place to stay in a nice village with lovely shops and places to eat. Would definitely stay again

The room was perfect, not too fussy for myself and my two labs. Lovely warm shower after a wet day on the hills. Fabulous location, only a short walk from the village and food outlets. Plenty of communication from Lynsey prior to arrival ensured an enjoyable overnight night stay.

We stayed at Grassington Lodge years ago on a number of occasions when Diane and her husband took over the business. It was one of our favourite places to stay. Sumptuous, convenient for pubs and eateries and glorious Yorkshire breakfasts. Diane was a super host who won Four in a Bed and appeared along with the previous owner of the Lodge. The business model has changed and the type of offering features on Four in a Bed these days. It probably wouldn't appeal to us now but staying here gives visitors access to a wonderful village and some of the best Yorkshire ale!

Ideally located just around the corner from the Market Square, the Lodge is set up as a self service Air B&B style hotel. We received the code to get inside but unfortunately not which room we were in! There was another couple frantically searching their emails for the same problem. Fortunately a call to the company led to the lady looking it up on the computer, hopefully this was just a glitch! The communal area was welcoming and nicely decorated for Christmas with a lounge to sit down and read a book. Our room was clean and had an en-suite shower, sink and toilet. Personally we found the mattress too soft and springy and the quilt was really, really thin which was not good as temperatures were -2C and no extra blanket in the wardrobe. However I spoke to the maid the next day and she helpfully found me one, so the second night was much warmer. On our day of departure, it had snowed heavily overnight so our car got stuck in the car park. I did call to see if they had a shovel available but sadly not. I did manage to borrow one from Michael, the very helpful and friendly next door neighbour who used to run the Lodge. Good value for money despite the hiccups.

Absolutely loved our stay, gorgeous room (room 6). Everything you could want tea,coffee,biscuits, hot chocolate, mini fridge. The room was very clean and cosy, would definitely recommend ,

After reading the reviews, I was worried. However, the Lodge wasn’t bad. Great location. They cleaned our room every day, which is something we didn’t have in other places we stayed in the Dales and Lake District. Lots of outlets for convenient charging. Mini fridge was helpful. They left us fresh milk for our coffee/tea, waters, and little snacks. They have a shared parlor area where we breakfasted on the yogurt and fruit we purchased at the market around the corner. (They also have cutlery/plates/bowls/glasses available, which we appreciated). The room and bathroom were quite small. Double bed. That was the downside. However, we didn’t spend much time there. It is unhosted, but we did get speedy responses to email inquiries. Very quiet at night.

Very friendly staff, comfortable beds, ample tea and great views. What more could you ask for.
